🔥 Deck Overview
Commander: Nethroi, Apex of Death
This deck leverages Nethroi’s powerful mutate ability to bring back an army of small creatures, each of which can be sacrificed for value or deal incremental damage to your opponents. It’s a classic aristocrats-style build with the added twist of graveyard recursion, making it a relentless engine of value and life drain.
🌿 Core Strategy
The main gameplan is to flood the board with creatures that can be sacrificed for damage, card draw, or removal. Creatures like Cruel Celebrant, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Falkenrath Noble punish your opponents for every death on the board, while Butcher of Malakir and Plaguecrafter ensure you keep their threats in check. Nethroi acts as a late-game powerhouse, bringing back a critical mass of these creatures to quickly close out the game.
⚔️ Key Creatures & Spells
Reveillark and Grim Haruspex – provide powerful card draw to keep your engine going
Skull Prophet and Nyx Weaver – fill your graveyard with the perfect targets for Nethroi
Butcher of Malakir – forces your opponents to sacrifice every time you lose a creature
Final Parting and Buried Alive – tutors to find your best pieces and set up the perfect reanimation target
Death’s Oasis and Deadbridge Chant – grindy value engines that ensure you’re never out of resources
💎 Ramp & Mana Support
Early ramp like Elves of Deep Shadow, Sakura-Tribe Elder, and Paradise Druid gets you to your big plays quickly, while mana-fixing lands like Sandsteppe Citadel and Krosan Verge ensure you can always cast your key spells.
